On May 15th My Wife Jane and I took a drive across the Mississippi Gulf Coast. We drove from where we were working in New Orleans, to
Pascagoula, MS. Below are a few pictures from that trip. Sorry, the quality of the photos is not very good (most were taken through the truck
window at 70 plus miles per hour).

Everywhere We went there were piles of debris awaiting removal

This pile of debris was once a beachfront home in Pass Christian

This stretch of hyway 90 should be green, lush and crowded with tourists

I believe this hwy 90 store would be better named as wall-less mart

If you look at the upper right side you can see what's left of the metal
hurricane shutters, they were no match for katrina.

The only thing left was the sign.

These are just samples of what we saw for miles and miles and miles...

Another beachfront mansion on 90

Below are pictures from New Orleans. Please keep in mind I didn't have to hunt to find these examples of destruction, from the I-10 Slidell bridge to
Metarie I was hard pressed to spot a business open or a home occupied on either side of the interstate.

One of the few streets where I saw evidence of recronstruction or habitation.

Many apartments were not only flood ravaged but also burned out.

Whole shopping centers and business areas abandoned damaged and desolate. No people, no traffic, did not even see a dog.

More desolation and destruction, again these are not isolated instances, everything for miles and miles looked like this.

Temporary bridge span on I-10 causeway

All of these New Orleans Pics were taken from I-10

If you look closely you can see that steel reinforced concrete was
ripped apart!

What's left of one of the casino buildings.
